    Just got back from a short ride .I filled the tank e few weeks ago and at 75 on the trip odometer,my reserve light comes on .I normally get 90-95 before the light comes on.The only thing I have done this year is C.O.Ps and plugs .I havent touched the carbs ,but I am running some seafoam thru it...

    Could have a carbproblem .

    Just got back from a short ride and I am getting the sputter and back fire between 4-6grand .I will check the plugs friday .I ran it earlier on the stand with the air cover off and all the carbs looked ok and seemed to be in sync.No spitting fuel anywhere.

    Thanks at least I can rule that out .My Max is like my wife she constantly needs a little TLC or she acts up .

    Got the bike on the center stand and the air cleaner off and I noticed that there is a tube running in the back and I noticed that there is an inlet tube on the front.I do not have anything connected to this inlet in the front .Could this be a problem?.I do not see anything loose underneath.

    Put some Seafoam thru it and no luck .I guess I will have to get her up on the center stand and run her through the gears with the carbs open and see if I can spot anything.

    Sputter

    I will put my bike on the stand this weekend to see how she runs with the rear wheel up.When I hit 5-6grand she takes right off so I think that rules out the fuel filter.I have new plugs and put on C.O.p setup a few months ago.

    Mine does that too but not all the time .I too can find it better shifting down from second.

    When the kill switch is on the lights come on but the v boost doesnt function.I have the Panasonic battery also and it cranks well.

    You said it starts hard usually so you have electrical connection problems or need a new battery for starters.The Max takes alot of battery to start it well so ,a strong battery is the first thing to get.

    My tach hesitates when I start it cold so, I tap on it and the needle starts working.

    New Rectifirer

    Crimped and shrink wrapped the wires and used 12 gage on the neg and pos connections and 14gage on the stator wires.She has never started better.I counted 3 maxes out of about 25 bikes at work today and I think mine is the best out of the 3 but arent we all partial of our babies.:clapping:

    Took her to work today I am getting about 13.2 at1000 r.p.m. and 14.3 at 2500 rpm.The battery rests at 12.8to 13 and cranks like a Mac truck .Its amazing how much better she spins when you up the volts from 12.5 to13 volts.Btw my battery is a year old.The C.O.P.s help alot too with the starting...

    I Got my new rectifier off of E bay today .I am running a zx10 from a kawasaki ninja.I am getting 13.2 at 1000r.p.ms and 12.9 with the fan on.The Rectifier coupled with the new C.O.Ps set up = quick starts and good volts to the battery.The last test is to run it for a while to make sure the...
