So do you lose the 'reserve switch' function? At 3 gallons the fuel pump shuts off and the 'switch' starts it back up, right? I assume you lost this now, or did you do a work-around?

Its only silicone epoxy, it should come back off with little effort. I'd be more concerned about removing the factory tabs from the plastic fender.

Yeah, just make sure the end is open, some of them are sealed. Most rubber grips where the end is sealed can be cut out for mirrors or ends. I really like my D3s, and there are some knock offs out there for cheap.

Yes, the occasional beer, and dirt, bugs, leaves, etc. Not to mention the sudden drizzle or rain storm. I would never run w/o filters, especially the carbs that have the stacks sticking out of the sides.

I can imagine a $13,000 bill if they are replacing the frame, forks, triples and everything else with new parts, plus labor. Genuine replacement parts add up quick. I am sure that you could probably get this one back on the road for not a lot of money as long as the frame is usable.
