    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

Here's a couple more of those cylinder heads we've messed with for that chopper, along with a custom camshaft we had ground for it that we never got around to installing yet. The one on the left is the old one and the one on the right is the new one. Maybe someday when time permits. :) john

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

No problem and all I'm asking for is some dyno information, engine design (*ANYTHING*) useful on what's out there as far as all these packages that have been proven, so I can see where the starting point of reference is. I cannot figure out where I'm going if I don't know where I am first...

Does anyone have any dyno data of various packages? john

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

What do you mean? There are no "smoke and mirrors" in engine design, just what works and what doesn't based on R&D, trail and error or whatever else you want to call it. Do you think another company outside of the camshaft manufacturer isn't capable of developing something on their own to...

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

What useless drivle are you even talking about????? Your run-on sentences are difficult to even understand... Who the hell is talking about secret cam specs????? I was merely gathering information so I can develop a cam for myself. Who said I want to produce a cam that will blow the engine...

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

I build racing engines for a living and if I had relied on them producing the cams they "thought" I should have, 1.) My business would have failed years ago and 2.) we wouldn't be making the power we are with what we're working with. I don't care if we're talking lawn mowers or race engines, no...

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

I'm going to grind the cams in my bike in 2 different stages- one set designed for stock engine w/ slight bolt-on mods and the other for engines with mild modifications on stock displacement. Since I have 3 sets of cam cores here, I can do a bit of swapping around without much down time, until I...

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

No worries. We do a *lot* of R&D work with an automotive racing camshaft manufacturer for our racing engines here, so I think I'm going to send them a set of stock cam cores to roll to get the information. I'd really like to see the lobe profile of the stock parts- especially with the idle...

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

No.. Those are not all the specs I'm looking for, because as I said before, those common specifications only show lift/duration figures, they do *not* describe the camshaft's valve events, lobe ramp profiles, lobe advance, LSA, pressure angles, etc. etc. etc, or any other very important...

    Thank you Sean Morley!

Wow!! That does look good! Almost stealth! Sean- I have a brand new Corbin seat in the box here that I have never put on for various reasons... Is there much you can with that thing? I actually wouldn't have gotten it myself, but my wife purchased it for me last Christmas, so I can't sell it...

    Stock Camshaft Valve Event Specs??

Does anyone know the valve event data of the stock camshafts? I don't just mean the standard duration/lift figures, but the actual valve timing events, pressure angles, lobe ramp velocities, etc. that one would obtain from rolling one on a Cam Doctor? I'd like to know how the stock camshafts...

    V-Max parts - overpriced?

Also, I think most of the quality parts out there (USA or European made) are usually either custom hand-built components or they are one-off parts; which in either case will typically demand higher prices for the end product, since they are produced in very low quantities, by hand, for a...

Finally washed and cleaned the dang thing!!

No..it's not what you think, so get your mind out of the gutter!! LOL! Well, after 2 1/2 years of ownership of this current bike, (it was in dry storage for 2 years) I broke down and washed the filthy pig for the first time since I've owned it. :clapping:Needless to say, I think it turned out...

    Kerker Slip-On's?

mnmax~ I've looked at the SuperTrapp Systems and I had that system on a 1985 Honda 200x I had when I was high school. It did sound good, but since they diffuse the exhaust in a radial pattern, everything that was within 6" of the outlet was always covered in a black carbon film. On an ATV like...

    Kerker Slip-On's?

I'm still kinda holding out for the (hopefully) release of the 2009 VMax, as I just can't seem to let that thing go....it's just too cool and I want to trade my current stock bike in on it. I figured that a bike is worth more to a dealer when it's totally stock for a trade-in, than to have a...

    Kerker Slip-On's?

Thanks for the info guys and based on what I've read here, seen/heard online about the Cobra Systems, etc.- I'm getting the tried and true Kerker slip-on's. Here's why~ (and this is the engineering in me coming out again...sorry) 1. If an engine runs richer after an exhaust system change...

    Kerker Slip-On's?

Thanks for the link "eatatjoz". :) I've never had any Cobra stuff, except on my old Honda 350x trikes back in the day and although they were inexpensive, they were *loud* and they rusted once the cheap paint burned off. If their slip-on's for the Vmax are as loud as that was (or even...

    Kerker Slip-On's?

As many of you guys know, I've been waiting on the new Max to come out and I've also been trying to find a HDSE forever, but for whatever reason, I just haven't found the one I want yet. Soooo, it looks as if I'll keep my '95 for awhile longer (at least for this Summer) so I'm in the market for...
