I changed the oil at 600 miles. The final, gear oil in the shaft drive as well. I went with dyno juice again in the motor. The shaft drive got Mobil 1 synthetic. I'm pretty sure that the dealer put too much oil inside. If I had to guess, it'd be to keep the "oil light" from coming on under hard...

I don't think it's the configuration (V4) that makes it heavy. I think it's the obsession with weight loss over the last 10-15 years in sportbike design that has reduced the weight. The bikes produced today have even nuts & bolts that have been hollowed out because the designers have saved 450...

Can't see it being a Busa killer. It looks pretty big and heavy. Also, I hear that Suzuki is "updating" the Busa due to the gauntlet (ZX14) being thrown down by Kawasaki. I LOVE all the choices!

I agree! Very nice. Any idea how much "sick" would cost? I suppose I could just buy the guards off ebay and then do the black chrome thing. It would be pretty uncommon! :D

I believe that the Holeshot ones are powder coated. I assume that makes them a little tougher to wear (as highway pegs) than paint (?)... Dale is a frequent poster on my FZ1 site. Maybe I oughta just PM him or call out there and talk to him. He seems to be a pretty straight shooter...

Thanks for the input guys. I will definately look into those mods before deciding what route to take. I don't really need to make my Max the ultimate handler. I do want to lessen the hobby-horse effect tho. I still have the FZ when the need for speed meets mountain roads.

Can't really help with the posting of different exhaust systems in a sound file. I AM very pleased with my Supertrapp slip-ons. They were just "ok" until I put on the open endcaps. That deepened the tone and gave it a burble on low RPM decel that is to die for! Plus they were only about $300...

I'm going to have to wait on the radials. That is SERIOUS money. I will get the ME880 tires when the OEM ones are worn. Everything I've read about the 880's has been really positive.

I am interested in replacing the springs and the shocks with aftermarket parts. My question is.... has anyone replaced the springs only? How does the bike balance? I will eventually get shocks as well but the cost is more than I want to pay out now. As a side note, I currently plan on using...

The Sportmax is the route I'd likely go as well. I don't know what kind of turnaround time they have, but the seat looks like it would be comfortable. I also like keeping the opening latch as stock. It seems to entertain gas station attendants everywhere :ohyeah00:
