The stocker's are stepped. I got 1.47 on the flange and 1.36 on the pipe.

It converts the three phase AC power of the stator to a usable DC current for the battery and regulates it to 13.5 volts or so. If the new one has a ground wire and the old one doesn't, swap 'em.

Cracked intake boots could also cause an erratic idle.

Your battery is screwed. It doesn't have enough amps to start the bike. Jump it to a non-running car to make sure, but I bet the battery is gone.
