If it matters. I also have 30k miles on stock clutch. Started slipping( 4 th gear) after I added synthetic( yea I know) . I did the DD mod, didn’t touch the plates. Zero slip now. Only engine mods are ufo exhaust and jetted. I also don’t mind the increased lever pull. Good luck!

Sean Morley had a group buy on them a while back. Think they were close to $2500. Along with the extended swing arm I “think” they bolted right up. Best riding VMAX I’ve personally ever ridden. Contact Morley, maybe he can set u up although I don’t believe they’re available “new” anymore.

Yea, still have them. I kind of forgot about them lol. Guy I bought bike from was at least 6’ I “think” most of the forward controls for the vmax locate your feet in about the same area. I’m 5’10” and was miserable with them for 350 miles. Lol

Just reread noticed you said “disks are fine”. I would assume if friction plates were completely worn out, it would slip no matter how many pressure plates u added.

Cool. Yes, stock clutch and 30k miles. Lol. Next week I’ll call Morley about a new clutch pack. I just thought I try it before I tore into the clutch.

Stock clutch slipped with synthetic, tried DD first with intention of adding new friction plates. No more slip… ever. Do I still need a new clutch?

Glad you’re enjoying! Maybe a seat with more of a “cut”. The Corbin,as I’ve read, is firmer and doesn’t really lower your seating position. Morley makes a great seat IMO. Then maybe lowering springs for rear and drop the front up to 1” in the triple trees. You can buy a shortened kickstand or...

DD mod added to completely stock clutch… has anyone ever had one slip? The lever pull isn’t difficult( firmer than stock, yes) and more “how” a vmax should feel. IMO

Biased but a Gen 1 with 3+ swingarm, 18” wheels, custom seat, progressive forks and braided brake lines sounds like perfection. Granted you’ll have invested what you could get a nice Gen 2 for.

Here’s something I’ve never seen done. Previous owner gets all credit. He integrated blinkers and brake light into stock grab rail. Unfortunately I added a back rest and had to remove it.

Unless you’re all legs it will be a stretch.
