Does anyone know what the plate washer that goes on the bolts that hold the sending unit on are made of? They appear to be a fiber material of some sort. The old washers are shot and the new tank and sending unit did not come with new bolts.

I'm getting ready to buy a new fuel tank from Partzilla for my 1986. My current tank has some significant rust in it and a new one is only $309 from Partzilla. For OEM Yamaha part I didn't think that was too bad and for the piece of mind well worth it. Thoughts?

Yes, cleaned the tank once and will probably do it again, put a new fuel filter in, blew out the fuel lines, etc.

Make sure you take out the main nozzle ( I believe it’s called). It’s the bigger screw head on top of the jet block.

Check to make sure the diaphragms are seated properly/sealing properly. Mine didn’t want to lay flat at first.
