You guys were right on! The clip fell off the bottom rubber on the right scoop. Also, the same clips hold the rubber on the fake tank cover bottom. Thanks a lot. Guys on this forum are great. R

Was changing the spark plug on # 4 cylinder, right front, yesterday. As I tightened the spark plug something fell on the ground. This little clip. Am trying to figure out where it came from. Please let me know where this goes. Thanks. R

Vmax oil is not supposed to have any special additives in it. So what about Walmart Super Tech 10w-40. No additives. Rated at or above minimum letter codes required by Yamaha. I think those special additives were mileage extending or friction reducing additives.

The maker is Dickie's. Bought at academy sports in Norman, ok.

Yes, I agree about saddlebags, tank bags, etc. To me it takes away from the sporty, bad ass look. So a backpack will suit me just fine.

First calculation of the mileage in my new 2005 vmax, 44.4 miles per gallon! That is mostly cruising on state highways, 55 to 65 MPH. I am pleased with the result on the first check. Has supertrapp exhaust with 8 disk in each side. Factory jetting. New tires.

My 2005 does not have the "YAMAHA" emblem on top of the rear fender but I have seen it on others in pictures. Does anyone know why or why not does a vmax have this emblem on the bike.

Went out today for a 50 mile ride. No other vmax riders. Was a great riding day in Norman, OK. Lots and lots of bikes on the road. I get tired of waving at all those folks I don't know. I spent a lot of time trying to keep up with the waving. It has gotten out of hand for me.
