From an old carb guru's email (TC Campbell)
Cruise at 4k in 5th gear..hold RPM steady (count to 5) and then whack it WOT as quickly as you can...we don't want to feel the slightest delay or hesitation (if we do we have the needles set too rich). This does not work at 3.5 or 4.5k..only at 4k
Is this Wolf Trap for Performing Arts? Or an actual hotel? May be able to meet up and greet but don't think I can follow for the ride..still limited by my pinched nerve...have to tolerate pain when riding at the moment.
I do NOT recommend tack welding the bolts. PCW did this to mine and when the clutch cracked it was a royal PITA to get those out. I did not do it myself since I had the sprague starter clutch mod done but the guy who did it really was not happy about it.
Get the leak fixed. I blew an engine neglecting a slow leak on a long ride. If coolant falls below the filler neck you get no circulation of the coolant and it cooks the engine.
When I reassembled I did not push the mechanical seal flush with the impeller. I left it sitting above it 1 or 2 mm. The seal will be pushed back down during proper assembly and this helps ensure the seal remains tight against the housing.
I don't use Engine Ice after I saw a lot of particulate matter settled at the bottom of the last container I bought. I went back to Toyota Red and added Royal Purple coolant additive.
Wanna try the AGV Corsa but they are so sparsely stocked the closest place to try one is at Revzilla in Philly. Next time I'm in the area I will stop by there
