I've got a brand new starter that I never put on after getting the odessy battery and realizing I didn't need to upgrade. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.
I thought I needed to upgrade my starter because of my old battery. After inheriting that one and using it for 3 years I bought an odyssey I couldn't be happier. Starts like a normal bike now haha, even when hot.
Just put the oddessey battery in and WOW what a difference. Starts like a normal bike now, even when I restarted it hot! Not even gonna bother installing the 4 brush starter I bought. I highly recommend this battery.
Thanks for all the pointers. I'm gonna try a $30 posture brace for my upper back first, then it'll be a drivers backrest, and if that still doesn't work I'll fool with the handlebars.
That's what I think is my biggest issue, but I don't see how anything but leaning further forward could possibly help it.
On the strat I try to sit upright and feel almost no wind. I think no matter what I pull down slightly on the bars, not so much pulling back.
Would handlebars be the...
That'll be the last resort... I've been in for lower back pain when I wrestled, but that has subsided and the pain from riding is totally unique. Luckily it's always gone by the end of the day.
Anyone have any suggestions for how to alleviate upper back pain on long (+2hr) trips? I tend to get burning pain in my lats the worst, with some pain between my shoulders, but definitely the worst in the lats, and usually only on one side or the other for some reason. It happens on both the...
Looking to upgrade my 88 after being stranded at a few gas stations. Used is fine so long as it works as new.
So far as I know the new starter will fit my bike and is the best way to get rid of hot start issues? Already bought a new odyssey battery.
Thanks,
Connor
Is that something that would have been able to take care of itself? Since it hasn't happened again I figured whatever it was had resettled/broken in/freed up in time on its own.
All I could tell is that it was coming from the carbs and not the fuel tank. It was like a gurgling hissing sound that tipped me off to it and then I noticed a little gas on the block. Unfortunately I was late for class and I didn't get a chance to investigate, but when I came back it started...
Definitely not below 4k... couldn't say where it happens above that. It's occasional though; if not for the lousy low rpm performance i would leave it as is.
The slides are not drilled so far as i know. I haven't been into the carbs myself though.
So I'm taking the plunge into carb tuning. They've always been sort of a black magic to me, but its getting frustrating running with the current setup......
Anyways, I had Danny rebuild the carbs last spring and they came back like this:
Jets #90, #170, #155 main
Stg 7 needles on 3rd clip...
They're direct swaps and I'm sure there are people here who would take you up on that. If that's the case I'd post some pics of your backrest to get a better gage of how much more your rest is worth.
Yeah they come standard like that so there's plenty floating around for $75-100. You can sell your backrest for 2-3 times that much depending on condition
