I use Startron. Been using it for 10 years now. No carb issues since. I also only run 87 octane. None ethanol fuel.( per recommendation from a guy in Kansas. Who knows a thing or two about vmax prefomance)

Well put. Getting all the scratches out is a must. I went all the way to .000 steel wool. Then used a polishing wheel( with compund) No clear coat. Just a quick touch up. With some good Ole MOTHERS.

Mounts will .make the entire bike. Feel solid. Some people just won't listen. Imo

Solid motor mounts made my entire bike feel tight. And ride straight and true no wobbles. They make the motor tight in the frame.so everything has a nice rigid feel.Even feels more soild.when I take it to the drag strip.with struts on the rear instead of shocks. No more shaft lift at launch.

Definitely a game changer. I use an older sportmax seat.( very similar to the muscle ) My bars are a rm250 bend. So much better than them narrow drag bars. So I know exactly how you feel. After making those to changes. It's like a totally different bike. Enjoy

My pc680 is 14 years old. And still works like it was new. I didn't even use my battery tender over the winter.pulled the bike out. Cycled the fuel pump a couple times. And the vmax roared to life. I'm sure there might be better batteries. But the 680 is a good choice.
