    Motorycle For Sale 2005 V MAX 20th Anniversary Edition -- $4500

Beautiful bike with 20th anniversary emblem, factory flames paint job on fake tank top, and seat stitch flames. Hate to sell but recent back surgery prevents me from horsing around such a big bike. 44,700 miles on it and in beautiful showroom condition. See the pics. Carbs properly jetted for...

    Aftermarket rear shocks

Not sure if the Arashi have only rebound damping adjustment or both compression and rebound damping adjustments like the Ohlins.

What kind of aftermarket rear shocks are you running?

My '05 came with no name Chinese 11 inch center to center rear shocks. Really bad idea. Handling was awful. Front wheel wanted to flop over at parking lot speeds, had to fight the bars to hold a line in a curve, and steering was very slow at speed. So, Ohlins 13 inch center to center rears...

    Delkevic Slip Ons

Best I can do for now. Back surgery two weeks ago. so probably another week or two before I can haul the heavy bikes out of the garage.

    Delkevic Slip Ons

Yeah, Delkevic seems to be high quality stuff at a nice price. I have a full 4 into 1 system on my 1982 Kawasaki KZ1100 that took me less than an hour to install.

    Back seat rack

Here's a Hepco & Becker bolt on rear rack on my 2005. Also a pick of the H & B bags I have on the bike. Unfortunately H & B does not make bag brackets for the Vmax. So I fabbed my own to fit these bags I had on another bike.

Steering Head Bearings Replaced and Wobble Gone

Your summary is accurate. Roller & ball bearings are never replaced piecemeal. Always inner and outer races, roller/ball cages and roller/balls are all replaced. Anything else just mixes warn and new parts with unpredictable but likely bad results.

    Should I?

My 2005 had 44K on it when I bought it. Runs fantastically. Perfect carburation all through the rpm range from idle to red line, no 2nd or other gear issues. Did have to rebuild leaking forks and brake calipers, though. Luckily those parts are relatively cheap. Love the bike. Gtista

    RABACONDA TIRE CHANGER

Just used this thing to demount old and mount new tires on my 2005 Vmax. Made a nasty job pretty easy, even for a first time user. My usual bike shop for tire swaps, etc., has shut down and next nearest is many miles away. So, invested in this. Very much not cheap. But given what each tire...

What kind of aftermarket rear shocks are you running?

Here's what I did, probably overkill for the street, but here goes. Started with full fork rebuild-- new bushings and oil and dust seals. And new triple tree bearings to get rid of wobble. Then, Ohlins 13" rear shocks with Ohlins recommended initial compression, rebound and preload settings...

    "My fly" screen that is.

And you can see, it does catch flies, ha ha. Should have cleaned it up before taking the pic. Gtista 2005 20th Anniversary Edition

    "My fly" screen that is.

Here's what I did from Amazon with $35 for the flyscreen and the fork brackets. Admittedly a series one Vmax, but not upside down and no cutting.

    Which number 20th Anniversary Edition?

Hello, I have a model year 2005 20th Anniversary Edition, VIN JYA2WEE025A090049, with 44,000 miles on it. Very pristine bike. Unfortunately, in keeping it that way, some former owner polished off the serial number from the chrome 20th Anniversary logo on the fake tank. any way to tell what...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Installed Emgo Honda CB750K replica bars. Some rerouting of throttle cables and clutch hose but no drilling of bar needed. Vmax switches, throttle, clutch and brake master cylinders located by friction with the bar only. Front brake upper hose was a bit short so replaced it with a longer one...

Parts For Sale SOLD Brand new Chinese "fake Ohlins" shocks

Yeah, the springs look a little anemic for the Vmax. So price drop to get them out of my garage. $25 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 by UPS ground. Hopefully someone can use them on a bike other than a Vmax, Thanks. Gtista
