    Backfire when accelerating

Coasting air valve diaphram. Might have a different name on the VMAX carb. I had a bad one on mine. It's supposed to lean out the system on decel. It's under the small 3 screw cover on the rear of each carb.

    Any Car Mechanics Electrical Demons

If it was a passlock issue you should have a flashing security light on the dash when it won't start. Because you say you are losing lights, even the check engine light, that's more common with PCM failure. Are there any fault codes in the system ?

    Any Car Mechanics Electrical Demons

Bad PCM. More common on Chryslers, but I've had a few Chevys in my fleet with PCM issues. What model year is it ?

    Concealed Carry Weapons, Firearm

I know a guy who runs a body shop up here in Port Richey who keeps a S&W 500 for protection. Insane IMHO. Like you said, it will go through a perp, his car & probably several others before it stops. At least he shoots it once in a while so he knows what to expect. I know another guy who carries...

    Concealed Carry Weapons, Firearm

Taurus 85 38 special that was brush-chromed & fitted with a Wolf spring by Kogan at APW. I put a Barami hip-grip on it & carry it "mexican style". Not super comfortable, but very convienient. It's currently stoked with 158 grain ball for maximun penetratration. When hunting, I carry a Taurus...

    tips for buying older v-max

If you're comfortable spinning wrenches & are looking for a project bike, I say go for it. Mine was rough as hell when I got it, but it was cheap enough, & for me, rebuilding it is half the fun. No shortage of spare parts or knowledge at this web site. Bookmark it, buy the bike, & enjoy. :punk:

I haven't followed through with the tests yet. Daughter got married, then I was working O/T because of our stupid new SAP system at work, & now hunting season just opened early this year. LOL Haven't been using the Startron because I've been burning up the fuel regularly. I need to work on...

bike shuts off on take off and everything shuts off

My bike had a similar issue. I took apart, cleaned & greased ( with di-electric ) every single connector on my bike. Some connectors looked fine. Others, like the ignition switch, were green with corrosion. Then I dis-assembled the ignition switch, turn signal & starter switches & cleaned &...

I was born in Rochester, raised in Kendall, then I got married & moved back to Laser Street Rochester. Walking distance from the old Silver Stadium, if anybody remembers that place. Talk about culture shock - raised in the stix & then moved to the 'hood. We lasted 2 years before we had enough...

    I got Shot Yesterday......

Dave, What's your opinion of the Marlin XL7 ? I got one chambered in 30.06. Haven't hunted with it yet, but it dialed in nicely at the range shooting 180 grain. The scope is a Nikon 3x9 40mm Prostaff. Kicks like a freakin' mule, but I don't care - I wanted a lightweight, no BS hunting...
