Yep....that's NYC's population of bleeding-heart liberals for ya. Not content with "just equality", they feel that minorities need to be boosted up above the common white male. It's total ********, and not just because I'm a white male. If I was a minority, or in this case Latino, and some dbag politician feels that I need "assistance" to get into office, or "assistance" getting into college, I'd take it as an insult....they're inferring that minorities aren't good/smart enough to do it on their own.

The same thing was big when I applied to college....all the "affirmative action" that gives a scholarship to a black applicant with worse grades over a white applicant with better grades, simply because they are black. Professors are pressured to be more "lenient" with grading for minority students. Merit-based rewards tend to have lower standards for minorities, so the big photo-op for the university of the research team is a smorgasbord of skin color, regardless that probably half those people "booted out" someone with much more experience or knowledge in the area, all in the name of diversity. But who wants a math team that's all Asians, or a robotics team that's all nerdy looking white kids? Both those are the case at my school, despite the university's efforts.

Though few, if any politicians got into office on merit. More like convincing promises, a good face for TV, or being a good actor.

Not bashing any of you guys still living there, but DAMN I'm glad I left in '86.

It's a good place to be FROM.

Sure rub it in...
with my youngest starting college, the clock is ticking for us. I cannot stand NY any longer. Bunch of thieves and crooks in the state government.
School and property taxes are the highest in the nation. This budget has over 100 new taxes in it, the budget is 4 months late. They all suck and should shot.
Fuckem hard

What college? Alfred State Alumni here.

Hideous. A spit in the face to Americans and our founders. This socialibism is past out of hand. Any way to take control. Laws and decency are meaningless. Screw 'em. Sick of seeing chit like this. I work with guys from around the planet, daily. All have got their citizenship the right way. One knows American history as well as I or others. These guys can't handle it when they crap like this or the thought of handing out papers to a bunch of (mostly) Mexicans cause they snuck in.

Just outside Rochester here 25 miles give or take ,,Yep Larry is great..he does know his **** indeed.

I was born in Rochester, raised in Kendall, then I got married & moved back to Laser Street Rochester. Walking distance from the old Silver Stadium, if anybody remembers that place. Talk about culture shock - raised in the stix & then moved to the 'hood. We lasted 2 years before we had enough. We moved to FL & never looked back, except when we return to visit family. Now FL is not perfect by any means, but tax wise & of course weather wise, we're better off down here.

NYC is an extremely abrasive place, but as the song goes "if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere... New York...NEW YORK!"

Politicians suck through the US, look at the crap in New Orleans. Regardless Where I live in Nassau County we have the highest property and school taxes in the country on top of that we have the highest electrical cost in the country as well. Home prices, forgetaboutit. Everything cost more here. So why live here? I have deep roots here, plus some of the best medical care/facilities in the world. The entertainment is second to none, the beaches are incredible, restaurants first class, so much to do I can't get the time to do it all.

As fare as riding goes...20 miles from my house I have incredible roads that lead into the mountains. Bike nights almost every night of the week, charity runs every weekend.

You can dwell on all the negative aspects of this state and get overwhelmed by it all. I choose to focus on living everyday to the fullest, making as much money as I can, and busting all your balls until you ban me for good. :rofl_200:

Some good points made bob , so how about giving back some of my 6 figure income I send to albany, seems all my tax dollars are spent down state. Not Upstate...Nassau County, can't hold a candle to the Fingerlakes..Not even close, NYC is a ********....Money pit.

Hospital care, Strong Hospital, Rochester General. All leaders in the country, Not the state, once again all located upstate. I would like to keep that money for myself than give it a bunch of crooks. Pretty simple actually. Live life to the fullest, cant agree more. Busting balls, always a good time. Ride safe and cheers...

Getting banned forever, Priceless:clapping:FU

Nick Tahou Hots is a Rochester, NY landmark restaurant famous for the Garbage Plate™. We start with a base of any combination of home fries, macaroni salad, baked beans, or french fries topped by your choice of meats and dressed to your liking with spicy mustard, chopped onions, and Nick Tahou's signature hot sauce. Each plate comes with two thick slices of fresh italian bread and butter.:puke::barf:

I prefer the Australian lobster tails at Del Frisco' s. Call me a snob...but I sure know how to eat.

Grub spots, you have to love them.

We have a few nices ones up here. by nice I mean food. The monderosa is about 40 miles from town and serve the best burgers I've ever had.

friends of mine own Two Rivers Lodge and its there you can get your seafood and meat anyway you want it.

To me good food is alot like good music. a couple of people may totally despiseone another but will have a commonality when it comes to food, drink and music. :punk:
