Hello all. I was in the military for 30 years, so I have no problem blindly following instructions. But I'm going to sync my carbs again and I'm wondering why do I need to back the air fuel screws out a turn first?

She's purring like a kitten and I haven't even synced the carbs. I only use Shell gas, not much more to choose from here. I'll try some of that Starton. This last weekend I power washed my driveway. Gas in that thing was 6 months old and it started first pull and ran perfect... Anyway...

Hello all. So I get back from vacation and decide to go for a quick ride...and the bike runs like azz. Couldn't even get it to run off choke. After 15 minutes, it will run, but back fires, pops and generally runs crappy. When I parked it, it was running PERFECT. It sat for about 3 weeks...

Yep, that did the trick, thanks. WOW what a difference. They were pretty close, but the sync between the 2 sides was just a bit off. I had to turn it about a quarter turn and as soon as I did, you could immediately hear a difference. Took her for a ride...what a difference. Thanks again...

It did come with a bunch of plastic pieces...no instructions. No, didn't know I had to tie they all to #2 cyl?

So I bought the synchronizer below. I got it hooked up, started the bike...and the needles jump all over the place. Impossible to do anything with this. I did some searching and found a couple old vids of guys using this and having to run the bike at 4k to smooth the guage out enough to us...

Since Texas hasn't chimed in yet, I will. I just sold my ZL1 last year...put that on dumb ass decision list. I've owned all 3 of the bikes listed but unlike Texas, not all at once. Mine was red, and they were made in 2 colors, red and black and were only made 1 year (87). They were 6 speeds...

Agree, pretty overdone. But I like the ghost rider, flaming skull graphics. I'll be adding a radiator cover and if I find a chrome one...its mine.
