1st Gen & 2nd Gen Interchangeable air intake covers?

If you can’t find one for sale, find CaptainKyle on the forum and send it to him. He’ll get it done. Trust me. In summary my max and me were t boned be a pickup truck and the damage was extensive. Thanks to Kyle you’d never know. Specifically one of my scoops was heavily damaged in about...

    Stolen COP stick/wire/connector replacement

His coil kits may be out of stock but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have a bucket of coil sticks.

    Handling upgrades / frame stiffeners

I don’t understand all of the handling complaints. I mean our bikes were not designed to compete with sport bikes but I’ve been running my 95 at track days for years with great success. I started out stock on bias ply’s (ME888’s) and over time have upgraded to frame braces, solid motor mounts...

Exhaust, Spark plugs, front shocks QUESTIONS

I suggest Racetech single rate springs matched to your weight. Much better performing with a lot less dive on initial braking. And as Max Midnight will surely remind you setting sag is crucial to get the best performance out of any suspension setup

Deciding which rear shocks to go with

I bought the 412’s trying to save a few bucks and it only cost me more in the end when I upgraded to the 444’s. I ride my bike hard and have regularly ridden it for track days and for my money the 444’s perform great. Although I don’t have any experience with the very expensive Penske shocks...

Deciding which rear shocks to go with

The 412’s are somewhat better than stock the 444’s are much better than the 412’s. However depending upon your budget there are significantly better options than the 444’s.

    General

I’m sure some more knowledgeable members will contribute to this thread. My contribution is “professionally” rebuilt doesn’t mean squat to most of us unless they have experience with cv carbs and have a proven track record with our carbs. Many a member have posted almost identical threads only...

    Wow!

I wouldn’t be happy but neither would I blow up an otherwise successful 30 year relationship with a mechanic I was comfortable with and trust. I would however fastidiously check his work going forward.

V-Max Speed Wobble (ran it up to 115mph and...)

Well I am directly challenging the assertion that it’s a factory fault that’s widespread. As I have previously stated every instance I’ve read about was tracked down to one or several causes that were easily remedied. Flex in the frame and swing arm has been well documented but only shows up...

V-Max Speed Wobble (ran it up to 115mph and...)

I may be wrong but although it can be several causes of the wobble, the majority seem to be caused by a too loose head bearing. I don’t see how regular maintenance item could be considered a manufacturer defect as I stated before I had a 55 mile per hour wobble and after properly adjusting the...

V-Max Speed Wobble (ran it up to 115mph and...)

Most will caution you not to put a radial on the front rim. It’s to narrow. It can be done however it detrimentally alters the tire profile. Better to stick with a good bias ply or get new wheels

    all 4 coils cracked

No …not necessarily. The evidence suggests that the ignitech can handle cop’s with no resistors. Talk to Sean

    Rear shock upgrade

I also run 444’s however my track bike has had the suspension set up professionally by computrack Boston ( now retired and Very well respected in my neck of the woods) and let’s just say he was less than enthusiastic regarding the 444’s and progressive suspension in general. For my budget and...

V-Max Speed Wobble (ran it up to 115mph and...)

I have a 95 that I got in 2013. It had a 55 mph speed wobble but only when I lightened my grip on the handlebars. The bounce test was revealing and a simple tightening of the head bearing solved it. I have regularly ridden my max at the track and the straight at New York Safety Track is good...
