When i got bike...all fluids and filters changed new ngk plugs gapped correctly set warm idle to 1100...synced carbs....rechecked idle....no intake leaks etc. Bike was flawless until just last ride and idle was low. Thumbscrew not easy to turn (not loose). No biggie just wondering if any others...

Have had many Yamaha's and for the 1st time the idle seemed to lower by itself over time. I set I set it to 1100 RPM with a tach when I 1st got the bike now after 2000 miles it's dropped to 900 and even stalled at a light. Bumped it backup to 1100 seems fine. Anyone else have the experience for...

My paper manual said 96 but I didn't see a spec for starter bolts..thanks! I may just tack weld instead of peen if I can get a buddy to do it this weekend.

I used that nice thick washer in conjunction with my puller when removing starter clutch. It got smashed/bent/inverted. I went and got a very similar size thick washer (but not quite as thick as oem) and it looks like it will work. Only concern is tightening that flywheel bolt to 96...

Got everything apart and have new starter clutch and new bolts and gaskets. Will clean everything real good, got red loctite and torque Wrench at the ready. Should I polish/smooth up the slightly marred surface or leave it alone (where bottom of starter clutch rests)

Got my Gear Wrench puller... Seems sturdier than the Harbor Freight unit. Waiting on extra 12.9 bolts and one more gasket to finish the job.
