    Oil pan

What I use to split anything glued together is a very slim putty knife. I will start in an easily accessible area of the pan, lightly tap with a hammer until it breaks the seal in that area. Then turn and walk the putty knife in both directions . Then as maleko89 states, a rubber mallet to break...

    Hacked Wires in Main Harness

Dont know if this is any help to you...... Stock wiring. Only the negative cable disconnected in this pic. ECM moved out of the way. Bottom right near the ECM connectors, seems like there are the wire colors in your pic. One has a 4 pin connector and the others look like they go into the...

    6th gear

Not to say it cant be done, anything can be done with enough money and imagination......that being said.....the space in which the current transmission sits it would have to sacrifice strength in order to fit the other gears in. If a single gear is 1 inch wide and you wish to add a gear, you...

Metzler doesn't recommend a tire for us anymore....

I have 58K miles(93K km) on my bike. I dont think there are many here that have ridden their Gen 2 that far and battled with tires. I have stated before my experiences with tires. I have ran Dunlops on my bike. They are a very sticky fast wearing tire. I do not spin tires, I do not race them...

Clutch hose fitting at slave cylinder line question???

The metal line on the bike looks to be an inverted flare. Your stainless line is a bubble flare. As far as I know, there is no "packing". This just says to me that the stainless line is wrong. The other thing you could do is replace the metal line on the bike with one that has a bubble flare.

    Crash guard bolt

I have seen several videos about the "2025 Vmax".....every one of em different. All of em seem AI generated. None of em show any details about anything. Nothing about the engine, nothing about the instrumentation, nothing about performance specifications. Until Yamaha unveils something and the...

Parts Wanted Gen 2 Rear Shock Assembly (2009)

When someone states that their shocks are bouncy, I generally think that the shock will continue to bounce after a couple bounces. Yours, from that video, just looks to be on a soft setting. Trying setting it a bit stiffer and see how you like it. Theres a few adjustments there on that rear...

Parts Wanted Gen 2 Rear Shock Assembly (2009)

Not trying to persuade you from a new shock, but have you checked all your adjustments? Maybe someone put them on the softest setting.

My chasis is bended. Any ideas?

A bent chassis is a bent chassis. Slower cruising speeds I imagine would be, "ok" but not advisable. High speeds with a damaged frame is a hard no from me. Why chance your life to a compromised frame? Adverse affects would be improper alignment of tires to the frame causing a vibration...

Longest lasting rear tire for gen 2?

Now for me, the Metzler front wore out in about 7000 miles. The rear outlasted the front. The front Metzler is also a dual compound tire. So my tire wore in a "W" pattern. As did the Dunlop. I cannot speak to the pattern wear of a Shinko as I tried 2 front tires back to back that were bad. For...

Longest lasting rear tire for gen 2?

Well, I have ridden on Battleax's, Shinkos, Dunlops, and Metzlers. My OPINION based on my experience......Metzlers hold well. Con, they are expensive. Dunlops...very sticky tire. Fast wearing tire though. Battle Ax, best tire for the weight of the bike. I have not noticed any adverse affects...

    Drag Racing for fun

On my bike, when I first got it, I played with those. 9500, 10000, and 10500 were my selections. Mine would rev limit at the set limit I selected. I think yours may be selected at the 9500 limit. I have mine set at the 10000 limit.

Theres a menu option to change the RPM limit and shift light. Hold down the select and reset buttons and the menu will come up.

How to replace Gen 2 spark plugs

My spark plugs did not have the rounded caps most spark plugs have. Instead, they looked like this. Air only succeeded in blowing the dust boot of the coil off. It did not release the coil from the spark plug. Every ignition coil had to be pried away from the spark plug because my coils gripped...

    Mileage Log.

55,555 miles. Major bike maintenance was performed at this time as well. Air filter, oil change, coolant flush, rear differential service and spark plugs. The mileage to fuel was off due to spark plug service and the battery was disconnected. Now, I have seen some pretty ridiculous mileage...

How to replace Gen 2 spark plugs

On my 2009, the subframe piece had to be removed. The ignition coils did not come up high enough to be removed. They just simply did not. As you can see with my subframe piece, there is no access points to allow the coils to go through. With my bike, if I was able to get the coils out without...

How to replace Gen 2 spark plugs

The front is more or less straight forward. If your bike still has the factory spark plug wrench, I highly recommend using that as its flexibility and size are perfect for the front cylinders. A slim 16mm with extensions and swivels is entirely possible. But I did not perform this job with those...
