what dose this 3 way switch do ?

With gas prices today, I don't think I could afford to leave the V-boost on all the time! Sure would make for short trips before re-fueling too. Having said that, I think I'll just go ON or NORMAL with a two way switch when I wire mine up :clapping:

How much would you pay for a basket case?

It's ok to "just say no" ;)

How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan switch?

Re: How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan swit Cool. I'll give an update when I get my part installed

    No center stand, no problem

First thing, I'd eat off your bike already. :clapping: It looks clean to me too. If you kept the center stand, could use that lock in the back and pull the front wheel off the ground? How heavy is it?

How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan switch?

Re: How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan swit Sam, can you can jump the switch and check the fan? I'd want to make sure that was working before I went out again (unless of course, I knew I wasn't stopping until I got back). Sounds like yours might not be...

How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan switch?

Re: How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan swit Interesting. Doesn't it matter where you measure the temp? The bike has to be 220 at top temp. It's baking my legs and I can feel it on my face. Sam, when you say your fan doesn't kick on, it's really, really...

    Good news/bad news.............

Wow man, you did everything I intend to do over a year in one fell swoop. Bigger gas tank is on my list too, plus a new seat. Way to be thorough! Congrats! Pictures? Here's what I've done since September (from your list): EBC HH brake pads Progressive springs with Race Tech emulators New rear...

How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan switch?

Re: How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan swit Well, that's kind of what I figured. :biglaugh: I guess you just gotta see it for yourself, I just like my engines to run a steady temp. When they don't, I freak. I was going to put in new coolant, flush it...

Well ITS OFFICIAL , MY HOUSE IS ON THE MARKET

I'm a Realtor and houses selling here now are the ones really nice AND cheap. It's not enough to be just cheap or just really nice and the market is supposed to be good here... I wish you the best and hope you enjoy the crap out of Florida! Riding all year rocks, hell... overheating in...

How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan switch?

Re: How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan swit I tried it today in a controlled environment, my garage. As noted before it scares the **** out of me to be stuck at a redlight with nowhere to go and watch the gauge just climbing as my legs and face start...

How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan switch?

Re: How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan swit I'm pretty sure the fan never kicked on. I couldn't hear it if it did. It didn't get to the red, it was heading for it though and it's done it on me before... never got into the red just scares me.

New addition to the bike family

That's a good looking bike, congrats!

How many of you guys bought the temp switch rather than install a manual fan switch?

After doing a lot of research here, I went ahead and ordered the radiator fan switch kit from VMax Outlaw. Between that, new antifreeze and the water-wetter I hope to eliminate the overheating problem. It was 65 degrees today and within 2 long red lights, the temp was going to the red. I had to...

    Progressive springs?

+2, springs and EBC brake pads = the bike isn't scary any more.

People come to see my KLR for sale and all they do is ogle the Vmax

"Is that a V-4?".. "I heard that hauls ass", on and on. Then they ask me why I'm selling the KLR and leave here looking for a Vmax. I guess I need to hide Max! :bang head::punk:

Maybe I won't feel so bad if I tell myself I'm restoring it - bent fork issue

I know part of it is cable routing, it doesn't seat well all the way to the right. I'm not thrilled about the whole situation, but it rides fine and you don't really notice anything going down the road. The brake drag is constant, no high spots or rubbing.

Maybe I won't feel so bad if I tell myself I'm restoring it - bent fork issue

Now I get 1.5 rotations before it stops, still rubs but not as loud. When you guys let go of the bars, does your bike track straight? I'm pulling left, to ride with no hands I have to lean way right. On the center stand with the front tire off the ground, the wheel automatically swings left...

Maybe I won't feel so bad if I tell myself I'm restoring it - bent fork issue

Thanks for all the replies. I know the forks are bent, you can loosen the tube on the bike, twist it and watch the brace move. I know we used to straighten them all the time on dirt bikes, but I never tried on a street bike. The brakes are constantly, lightly applied, if you spin the wheel it...

Maybe I won't feel so bad if I tell myself I'm restoring it - bent fork issue

I briefly mentioned the bent forks in another thread, but another problem has surfaced (or I noticed it) because of it. It's been so windy you couldn't hear it, but the front brakes are scraping. I'm sure it's because the forks are bent and the pads aren't perfectly square with the wheel. It's...
