    Finishing Toasted... Suggestions?

Hello. Polishing them will put them like new, for real don't worry about it. It takes like an hour each one, but they get amazing. Just be patient with it. Remember they have clear-coat from stock, so polishing them without stripping that will do nothing. I suggest a good transparent primer and...

I won't let go so much time until I dissassemble all my carburetors. I'm doing a full tutorial about them if you want it. It's not my first time doing carburetors neither a tutorial about them.

I just read everything on this thread. I think I'm on time for helping you. Let me throw you a hand, in the good sense. Be patient. In the worst case just buy the carbs from other bike and test that. I'm 95% sure it's the damn rubber plugs I'm telling you. I'll check for diagrams to show you...

I'm thinking about making inox fuel tanks for the Vmax. From scratch. I have the tools. Mine will be the first to test one whenever I have the time. I have the materials waiting too for it.

I'll be glad to help by videocall or anything if I can, I don't know if I'm on time for it, but to do it publicly and even in group could be amazing I think, and then posting it here.

I didn't read all the replies yet but I must say this ASAP because it can save your amazing motorcycle. I've had exactly the same issue with a Virago 535 and it was just that I put in the wrong hole the rubber plug inside the carburetors. The Virago 535 has exactly the same carburetors. Is as...

Excited to be a new member here!

I did never ride with a 20 YO tyre and I want to keep it that way. I'm changing the front one, that's the oldest and most important one. It's just that I have no money, I spent everything on the Vmax already. Another ration of waiting for me, I just spent waiting 2 months to go get it from 500...

You're right. It's that way. The only thing I respectfully disagree is that age (not an absurd amount of years of course) doesn't mean degradation. Installed tyres degrade easily because usually any vehicle is in bad environment for rubber and fabric as heat, cold, sun, pressure and forces... A...

Here in Europe tyres come with week and year of manufacturing printed on it. Front one seems to be from 2004 and rear one from 2015. I'm impressed because they don't look anything older than a year old. Even if we both, you and me, don't like those numbers, I'm taking my chances with them...

Thank you for worrying about those years. Happily for me those years went by with the previous owner and he put it all in place and used the bike again some years before selling it. Today the bike rides and works perfectly, but that aesthetic damage did stay, as normal. Anyways all the fluids...

Thank you for all the info. I really like the option of painting some ex-chromed parts, but I don't think they will be gray, but some other color along with all the other painting I have in mind. I've been thinking about painting just the plastic parts, and polishing the aluminium ones and then...

im a new member that needs a little help with my 92 vmax

Check fuses BEFORE ANYTHING. Then start from the spark plugs and get going up. If none of the spark plugs have spark, check the coils conductivity. If the coils are OK go to the other things at the same level, which are the switch, the neutral switch, the kick stand switch, next should be the...

Excited to be a new member here!

Hello from Spain. I'm a platonic lover of Vmax since 2012, but never thought I would be able to afford one. I'm not able to do it yet, but I achieved to ask for a loan to get my very first Vmax. It's a really important milestone in my life, at least for me. I never touched any Vmax that wasn't...
