Hi all: Any of you know what the diameter of the Max's rear axle is? Thanks. Elimax

Swapped forks recently. What is the torque spec for the front axle? Too tight and it puts stress on the wheel bearings and the wheel doesn't turn like it should. Too loose and I worry that it could work out because it doesn't have a lock bolt or clip.

..Just removed my rear wheel from a 1999 vmax.. I am trying to figure out the proper way to re assemble... ..There was a washer inside the diff stuck in place - but i dont think it goes there - as a washer was missing between the frame and brake caliper bracket.. ( looking at the grease marks...

Should I put light coat of grease on rear axle when replaceing rear tire? It had some on there and i cleaned it off.

Does anyone know the lenght of the older style rear axles that use the castle nut/ cotter pin. i am installing a side mount tag and the bracket is a bit thick someone told me the older one were longer. i just like to know how much mine is just over 13 3/4"s total and if anyone has a good shape...

I'm making an aluminum plate holder for the max,i've made everything for it except i bought an l.e.d. frame to mount to it.Not a huge mod but it will be a one of a kind mod.It's not complete yet because I might take the buffing wheel to it again to give it a better shine.It's still a little cold...

Hey all.. got my new powdercoated rims back and was putting them on last night!!! it looks sweet but i snapped the rear axle pinch bolt in half.... was still easily racheting it.. not sure if it was the sub-freezing temperatures (was in a semi-heated garage) or if the bolt was faulty.. i think...

okay I got my new shinko's the other day. like a child I was so excited to mount them up that during the front wheel removal I lost the front axle collar that goes on the right side of the front wheel,between the wheel and the fork leg. I have searched everywhere and cannot find it anywhere...

Hello all.. I have an 86 vmax that I tore down due to a knock.. I just got the cases split and pulled the drive axle assembly out.. The First BIG Gear on the end - seems to have alot of play on the shaft... IS this Normal?.. I dont see any scoring or wear on the shaft itself and the bronze...

Some say 55ft.lb then change to 35ft.lb while the manual says 110ft.lb what is the final word on that???????? it shouldn't be that hard to find the correct torque,does any one have access to an FJR manual or a venture manual? they are all the same design.:confused2: It has been circulated...
