When you have the valve covers off for an adjustment there is notches in the front and rear cam chain tunnel on the head for guides. Is there supposed to be a guide in both front of the head and back of the head? Thanks Jim N

I haven't lubed a chain in over 20 years (except for my kids' bikes), but I got to yesterday. I'm using Maxima chain wax, as recommended by the guy at the parts counter for O-ring chains. :confused2: You guys have a tried and true favorite I should look at? Thanks.

I am new to the V-Max forum, but I am interested in using a V-Max engine for a project that I am getting ready to start. . . My question is. . .how difficult would it be (or would it even be possible) to convert the V-Max engine to chain final drive? Thanks for helping a newb out.

I've got a 92 Max with a MAD MAX chain conversion on it that has developed a wicked vibration in the crank case. I think it is the Bearing but I am not sure and I don't want to tear the whole thing apart if I am wrong. Anybody ever have this problem and know an easy solution?

Does anyone on here own a chain drive vmax or know of someone who does and if so what type of quarter mile times are they running?

has any one done a chain drive conversion? How exspensive is this, and how difficult? I understand we lose a lot of HP thru the Shaft, (is that why the max has 145 hp at the crank and 116 or so at the wheel?) thanks Ox
