I own a 1994 V-Max and my brother owns a 1992 V-Max. Both bikes have slight oily residues on the bottom of the final drive assemblies, which gets ever so lightly spattered onto the rear wheels while riding. It's barely noticeable. The oil levels are correct and I've see no signs of the oil...

I'm starting to see some gear oil around the joint area of FD and S/A. It seems to happen under load. Is the vent supposed to prevent this or do i have to replace some seals and which ones?

hi all, i did a search but nothing came up. I was looking into the belt drive conversion, I saw one before but cant fidn it now. Can you tell me if its a difficult job? What else would need to be changed? ie- the wheel hub? also would you reccomend changing to a belt drive? Thanks

Guy is kinda cluelless from what it sounds, so Engine mods are a big ?. It does appear someone spent some cash on this bike though. It will be interesting what this bike brings. The whole "no title" thing is enough to keep me away. I would love to know what all mods have been done though...

Can anyone tell me how hot the final drive gets? Mine is very hot to the touch. It?s so hot that I can hold on hand only about 5 sec! Is this normal? :confused2:I change the hypo oil. It did'nt make any difference. All is stock and only had 5000 miles on it.
