theres one with just 1 L and then theres another S shaped one..
thnks!
Hi Guys,
I took my UFO exhaust off last night and it went well. I found that the read cylinders modst inner allen nut are almost impossible to get to with a regular "L" shaped allen wrench, I can't see how in hell to get a torgue wrench in there to torgue them.
In fact those 2 inner...
I talked to Mark today and he told me he hasn't got around to doing instuctions on installation of his exhaust but he said it was straight forward. Now for someone like me who has never installed exhaust I'm sure I will have all kinds of problems ( mostly second guessing myself )
I search and...
I got the Delrin motor mounts a long time ago, put in the front four and liked it. Now I am installing a set of Supertrapp slip-ons, so while the cans were off I thought I'd get the rear two motor mounts replaced with the last two Delrins.
Can't do it. I don't know what it's hanging up on, the...
I already have the new Progressive brand progressive springs. I know about the Silkolene.
I've installed Progressives in my Kawasaki, but all I did was drop in the new springs and put in ATF.
I'm hearing about spacers and emulators. I've never seen an emulator. What do I do when I open up these...
I am finally planning to install the K&N air filter for my 2004 V-max (one piece, not the 4 pods). The guy who convinced me to buy it said I'd simply need to adjust some screws X amount of turns.
What do I need to do to the fuel mixture to ensure it runs well? I have no modifications to my...
On the left-hand side, I made sure that the COP wiring (arrowed) was in front of the V-boost servo, so it wouldn't get in the way of the V-boost cable or cam movement:
the wiring is routed through the opening in the heat shield (arrowed) that the HT lead used to go through:
Now the left...
Ok so back to fitting the COPs, finally.
Here are the front wires prepared - notice that the #4 wire has to be longer to reach down to the right-hand cylinder from the connector on the left which is pretty close to the main harness:
Here's #4 connected...
...all taped up...
...and fed...
To remove the front coils, the only way to access all four coil mounting screws is to move the bracket that hold the CDI, ignition vacuum advance unit and V-boost servo. Here's a full view of it; the blue arrows shows the #4 coil screws, and the red arrows show the bracket mounting screws (x4)...
As I went to do the front COPs, I thought there was no way I would leave the original coils in place - after all the COPs mod is as much about saving weight and space as it is about better performance through less resistance in the coils circuit and better reliability through removing those...
Ok so since I couldn't ride today (missing that front wheel spacer) I went ahead with Birdoprey's Coils Over Plugs mod. Thanks for sending that wire harness Mark!:worthy:
I got a set of COPs from an '05 GSXR 600 ($10), and another set from an '01 CBR 929 RR ($5) as spares - both ended up being...
Much taller tire than the IRC ... or maybe my IRC was really chewed down a bunch more than I thought .....
Really struggled to slide the tire under the fender. Had to jack the bike up an extra inch or so, which was not fun.
Well i took mine off to clean it big mistake , no room behind it to tighten up nuts/bolts is there ant easy way to do this or do i need to take bars off etc :ummm:
Hi Guys, I finally got some free time today to install my new fork brace on my '05 max. What I thought was going to be a five minute job turns out that it may be a bit more in depth. Am I missing something here or do I need to pull the front wheel off to install the new brace? If this is what...
I will be installing broomstick drag bars next week and I have never done this before. Is there anything I need to know before I begin? ie. special tools to remove grips etc etc Thanks!
Installing cover inserts
Has anyone installed any kind of insert in to the water pump or middle gear cover. I can see that it IS an insert, I've drilled a hole thru it to get a grip and pull on it. I thought it was maybe held in place by o-ring tension but when I pull it out far enough it looks...
My understanding is that we place the fitting close to the oil level glass,
But this will only measure the general pressure in the crank case below the cylinders and this pressure is actually the back pressure of the cylinders as they go down and not the oil pressure in the oil passages, if that...
