January 2009 till season 5 comes out? WTF???

so my second hand 07 max (stock?) has 6500 km now (5000 when i bought it 3 mo. ago) and seems to have developed a clicking and ticking noise - first question are valves the likely suspect? definitely seems to be coming from the heads and particularly from the rear closest to the seat - the bike...
