considering doing the R/R mod, cutting out all the connectors, running directly to the battery, etc.....my question is this....looking at the original wiring diagram, it appears the red rectifier wire runs into the "crimp" that everyone recommends fixing, so....if you run the red wire directly...

....I am considering running the hot wire from the R/R directly to the battery with an inline fuse....but I am not sure what size fuse would be correct to protect the unit? Anyone that has done this care to say what they used?:ummm: -Mike

remember when this was posted? you use a keychain remote and hook it up to your hibeam to open and close the garage. WELL...I updated my garage opener to a Chamberlain model security + system....only problem is the remotes I have come across are 3volt batteries! cant user them can you?
