I bought a 97 V-Max a few weeks ago and have put three tanks of gas through it. The low fuel light and reserve are not working. I've added 3.9 gallons with no light coming on beforehand. I checked fuses. Is this a familiar issue to anyone? The fuel light comes on during the "test" when turning...

How To: Recondition the Electrical Components of the Throttle-side Switch Housing Pod

    Fuel reserve switch

Im new to this, so might sound quite dim. the fuel light came on so i moved the fuel reserve switch to on but 2 hundred yards later the bike ran out of petrol, could it be a relay or something else. The switch on the handlebars is nice and clean with no corrosion & the fuel light did come on?

Troubleshooting, No Fuel Pump Operation Unless Switched To Reserve

This is what's happening with my 89. I've been fighting this for a week now. The fuel pump relay basically controls and directs when the fuel pump operates. There are only 5 inputs / 1 output. 1. A hard ground. (input) 2. Power to the relay when switched to reserve. (input) 3. A ground...

Can Reserve Switch be left on all the time?

New bikes don't deal with reserve switchs and at least the vmax has a light. Can I just leave the switch set to Reserve and the bike will run on both the regular tank and the reserve portion? Because it has been a really long time since I've ridden a vmax I forgot all about the Reserve switch...
