Here's my latest creation. High, Fat and probably bordering on daft. Pictures speak for themselves but to clarify, 300 rear, 240 front. Underslung exhaust, Whole bike lifted 2", larger fuel tank. Beautiful paint job:rofl_200:. Lots more to do but I just wanted to get on the road for this year...

for $1,200 on a set of used keihin flat side carbs, according to pic. it comes with 4 39 mm flat side carbs. that come with intake boots, mounts..... is that a rip off?? seller says they are over $2,500 new. doesn't sound right, i can get a dual quad intake with carbs for my mopar for $2,500.

Got my new 2 tone side covers from Danny. Which do you guys think look the best, the solid black stockers, or the two tone style?

Has any one had trouble swapping covers from one bike engine to another? I'm having trouble with the cover that slides over the shifter shaft and has six screws that holds it on. When I slide the cover on the shaft it will not line up with the holes for the screws. I didn't push or pull too hard...

I was wandering were I can get replacements... I went for a ride and one on each side must have worked it's self loose :bang head:

Max is getting a over haul....engine bars, wheels, levers, side kickstand, and rear hand hold all getting powder coated gloss black...carbs rebuilt, new shoes and brakes...she be ready to be back on the road eating up the Harley's..they try so hard too.

Has anyone experienced this torking from sided to side , really a pain to ride in corners

What side is the valve stem on a stock setup? I assume the front is on the right side (sitting on the bike) as most are due to sidestand lean but on the rear there is more room on the pumpkin side, so i'm just curious which side yamaha put it on? thanks!

I noticed the crankcase cover on the left side was dripping oil. I ordered and replaced the O-ring and the large gasket, but still have a oil leak, and when I pull the cover off it looks like its coming from the center area. Does anybody have a suggestion or recommendation of what else to check.

Hey fellas, anyone ever done a modification to the side stand to get away from the awful upright position when parked on compromising street surfaces ? My 07 I swear would fall over in a stiff breeze in the wrong conditions and it's scarey. It's not like the bike is a challenge to pull up...

I'm not really familiar with how flat side carbs are meant to sound, so I'm not sure if the sound my bike is making is normal. The carbs "tap" when idling (which is normal) but seem to make a bit of the same tapping noise except louder at a particular rev range (around 3k). Is this normal?

I recently bought a rebuilt VMax with 2003 running gear on a 1988 frame, and lots of upgrades including a PCW 1500 Tourmaster engine with 39mm flat side carbs. It's a beautiful machine and pushes 163bhp etc. The carbs are great and bring a lot of extra power, but have left the little scallops...

It seems like the front 2 cyl. get hotter faster than the rear 2. Is this normal?? I 1st thought I bought a dud bike, not knowing about v4's, and possibly the sound was a bored out muffler as opposed to running on 2 cyl. I checked the spark and the coils were producing, a nice ticking spark on...

I am planning to paint the whole bike and I could start with the side plates where you have the Vmax logo attached. Is this logo glued to the side plate? There is no screw or anything behind the plate so I would imagine just plain glue. Any special instructions or is it just carefully...

I'm considering having the side scoops chromed, also the side covers below the seat. Has anyone here had this done and by who and how much. I ws qouted at a chrome shop in Calgary 100-150/piece, does this sound fair? Cheers'
