A lot of fuel when I pulled the slide

What's up guys? I've been away from the forum for a while. My vmax has been in pieces in my garage for the last six moths since I returned the carbs to Sean that I borrowed to help diagnose my problem. That's a long story..... but anyway my coasting enricheners were pretty rotted out so I...

    Carburetor Slide & Diaphragm

I did the shotgun and when spraying the slides and diaphragms down, I noticed a hairline crack going from the top to the bottom on one of the slides. I'm going to check and see if I still have my "spare" one. If I don't...where's the cheapest place to get one (as a unit minus the needle)

    Slide signal hole

Can anyone tell me what the stock diameter of the signal hole in the slide is? Drill bit size is fine.

    Adjustable slide needles

I had 4 sets of slide needles laying around that came from Vmax/venture carburetors that were of course non adjustable. I had a set that showed promise when I tried them but a little to rich and no way to drop them 1 clip. I made a tool the thickness of a snap ring and added two clip settings...

    like slide guitar?

Not really a VMax thing, but here's a song by one of my friends, well, two actually, it was started w/the first verse & chorus in 1971, and finished recently, when the surviving member of that two found the file, and decided to do it. I like bottleneck and slide guitar, but I'm not a musician...

    Plastic piece in slides

On the plastic piece that fits on the needle, there is a small little *** that fits into the slide. When you do anything with the needles, you have to rotate the needle, until that nipple falls into place on the slide. Everyso often, i will tend to break the nipple off of the plastic piece...

    Slide operation question

I pulled my airbox off earlier today, and every time I'd throttle it up any, the slides were jumping instead of pulling up and being steady. Is this a sign of a problem, or is that from it not being under a load?

    stuck slide?

Okay, I just picked up a new to me 1994 Vmax with what I am guessing is a stuck float. The bike is stock, except for Supertrapp slipons and has only 4450 original miles. The oil and plugs were just changed, and the old plugs were a nice light tan color suggesting decent jetting. Once the key...

How to replace carb slide diaphragm

Soak slides fully submerged in WD 40 overnight to loosen glue. Then instead of using a screwdriver to knock slide loose from diaphragm holder, I use a deep well 3/8 drive socket with a 6 inch extension to drive the slide loose from diaphragm holder instead of a screwdriver which is where most...

    Slide Diaphragm Ok?

Just wondering if this slide diaphragm is shot? It has a small rip near the edge but the rip does not go all the way through. Otherwise the rubber still seems pliable.

    Slide diaphragm rubbers

I pulled the carburetor slide covers off to do the "Shotgun" cleaning procedure and found the slide diaphragm rubbers are begining to fall apart. I found some replacement rubbers on ebay and was wondering if anyone here has changed just the rubbers on the slide assemblies. It sure would save a...

Carb slide info everyone should know

If your carb diaphragms seem to have shrunk a little after having them off the bike for awhile, and this is preventing you from getting a good seal with the carb covers, then soaking them in gasoline for about 2 hours might expand them enough to seal correctly again. This tip comes from...

Loss of power above 5k, slide issues?

Finally was able to get the bike out on the road and its not pulling past 5k. Pulled the air box top and cleaned thoroughly the intake holes with carb cleaner. While I was doing this I noticed that the slides wouldn't move, at all, even revving to 7k. I had the carb side covers p/c this year...

    Carb Slide and Retaining Screw

While rebuilding my carbs, I discovered that the bottom of my slide on one carb was cracked and the retainer screw that holds the needle was stripped. I've priced the items from a place I order parts, and the best I can find is $89.00 for the slide and $20.00 for the complete needle assembly...
