    Steering Wobble?

Went out for a short ride today and noticed that after accelerating and letting off the throttle there was quite a bit of wobble in the front end. It only happened if I was going more than 40 mph before letting off the throttle. Not sure what is causing this...any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I fixed my high speed wobble...

....and got my first US speeding ticket :bang head::bang head::bang head::bang head: so here we go, having renewed my steering head bearings, my high speed straight line wobble is GONE!!! I took my bike to an indicated 135mph today, and not a shake - it was as steady as a train. Also note...

    Wobble at precisely 90mph +

I have a wobble that occurs at about 90-100mph that occurs that I cannot figure out what is causing it. My suspension is not stock. I have the front fork tubes slid in 1 inch. I also have progressive front springs and racetech emulators and an aftermarket fork brace. I did the furber fix a while...

    Low speed wobble

Hey guys, I am in need of your help in trying to figure out how to solve my steering wobble at speeds of 40-50. It is really felt when decelerating from high speed through the 50-40 range. I just put new Metezler 880 tires on last week & my bike has not been the same since. I have had my front...

Fixing the speed wobble on an '85

This thread is going to be sort of a progress thread on what I do (probably over the winter) to fix the speed wobble problems on my '85 Max. Not sure how long it will take me to fix the problem or how quickly I can get to it now that winter is around the corner (since it is hard to run 110+ down...

    Hello Wobble!

What a day! I was planning on going to Daytona for the fest and hoping to rise an '09 max too, but as I got off work and rode home the bike ran like complete *****! :ummm::bang head::ummm: It was so bad - I could smell gas riding it (never done that b4) and it felt like 2 or 3 cylinders only...

    Identifying steering wobble

I was passing a car on an onramp this afternoon and hit about 85 to 90 I would say - I made a fairly sharp turn around the car to pass and the steering started to wobble, not really a wobble like I have had when I had misaligned forks on my previous bikes, but a smooth side to side sinusoidal...

Is 80mph Wobble a low speed or high speed?

When I'm switching lanes on the highway if their's any difference in the two lanes my front end wobbles a few times and then calms down. Would this be from too tight or too lose on those bolts? (I'll do the furbur fix next week - but since that's the only problem hated to mess with what was...

    Death Wobble for me too...

Leaving work today and I decide to zoom past my buddy in his Honda Civic. I was doing about a buck fifteen and going back into the correct lane(two lane country road with only us two on it). Then she decided to do the shimmy shimmy shake from going over the lines at that speed. I just rode...

    1992 Low Speed Steering Wobble

Guys - Was going about 25mph and went over a small bump and front end began to wobble. What could be possible cause? I verified everything is tight. I tried to check the air in the Forks and read nothing. I think the air fill valve is no good as I didn't get any air out when trying to exhaust...

The furber fix myth to cure a wobble

I did the fix a while back and liked the result but actually what happened is that as the bearing racers set on a new bike re torquing the steering should be done ~ 6 month and every 6 months after that, this eliminates the wobble caused by loose steering head no matter if you did the fix or not...

    Low Speed Wobble

Last weekend I took my Max on a 1700 mile ride. All went very well except for discovering a low speed wobble that was worse than most high speed ones. At about 50 mph I took my hands off the bars to readjust my gloves. As the bike slowed to about 40mph the front end started to shake and...
