‘89 fuel filter

Fuel filter on ‘89 Vmax
Charter member, first time poster
Anyone know an easy way to remove this to replace this?
The shop says to remove to tie down strap, nothing like that on my Max.
Other than disconnecting the hoses and maybe sliding it forward….. I’m stumped.

Replacing a fuel filter is one of the easiest pieces of Maintenance to do on a Vmax a set of duckbill pliers to squeeze the pressure clamps holding the gas line in place helps make things easier. You should be able to go to any well equipped auto parts store and find a comparable fuel filter for probably less than $10 that will fit in the same location as the OEM filter which is the last time I checked about $23.

Thanks, I can clamp off the hoses, The way mine is fitted under the piece of frame work & snugged inside some type of housing has me baffled as to how to remove it.

No need to clamp the hoses, the only fuel that is likely to come out is from the filter. Some rag/ pater to catch any spillage is a good idea though.
