very true indeed.
and as stated, these days lots of things go faster (and steer better) than a Gen 1- ..However, no inline four will ever sound as cool/badass as a Gen 1.

Yea, I had heard bout maxes before, but it wasn't until I heard one fire up in front of me (with a kerker pipe on it.) HO-LY- Crap. I had goosebumps, and that started my obsession. That awesome "V4 Roar"... and after 15 or so years, I finally got one.
(still need the kerker on it though.) ;)

That's my story and Im stickin to it.

ymmv

Thats a great story, easy to stick to! There is something way cool about the V4. Thats why I want a Venture for 2up, the sound is great but also the power delivery is nice. The bike has a nice narrow feeling vs an inline. When I first saw a Vmax it was regarded as the baddest thing to set tire on public roadway. Things have sure changed in the years but it's still a well built cruiser with gobs of attitude and performance.

I have a kerker 4-1, and ridden past a couple of cops that had someone pulled over. All 3 people stopped what they were doing and watched me ride past.

Love the sport bikes, love my 02 max, but the next one in the stable will be a new Speed Triple or new Thruxton R.
