Bike has just under 24K, which is low miles for this year.

I want a sportbike again. I need something lighter and more flickable. Ive decided on teh Z1000, but I have to sell the max first

Someone be sure to get his seceret decoder ring:red ass:

JK, hate to see ya drop the Max, but is not always bad to go play the field either. As time changes, so do we and our needs. GL with the new toy, hopefully you will sell the max to someone that will treat it right.

Ken, it's sad to see that you want to sell the VMax. Maybe you should have 2 bikes!:eek:hyeah00: If you sell, hopefully you'll stay on the forum.

i would probably still stay on the fourm. Id love two bikes, but financially I need to sell one to get another

If you do sell.....don't forget you need to find Dave and I a sport bike also......:yelrotflmao:

Any Bites........

no, but this is the only place I have it listed. I should put it in the paper, Im sure Id get some.

And Dave doesnt need any help, he was the funds to do what he wants

It's too bad Yamaha doesn't make this.... best of both worlds.

The Z1000.... not really a sportbike....but....

I'd ride one first. Maybe you have. A friend of mine has one ( I haven't ridden it BTW), and he is talking of selling it. He says it is pretty anemic at the low/middle range. He came off a Bandit 12.

Every person is different. A bike purchase is very much a personal choice. You wanna Z1000? Get one. I'd suggest looking at the ZRX 12. It was one of the best motors I've felt. The styling was kind of a distraction to me tho. If Kaw isn't a requirement, then the FZ1...

IMO, the FZ has it all over the Z1000. Course, that's just me :cheers00:

Good luck in your choices!

I have been on a Z1000.

Yeah I agree it isnt a true sportbike, but its about as close as you can get without losing comfort. Personally, Im not a fan of the FZ1000. Its too tall looking, and Im not crazy about the styling. Except for the 06's for some reason they are really appealing to me. But Im not gonna buy new so.....

The Z was a little powerless in the very low rpm's but I had no issue with the middle range. It pulled as hard as the Vmax and the top end was scary quick. At almost 130hp it has enough power. Im looking for a comfortable, lighter, turnable bike

Styling is completely subjective. I wont argue w/ you about what YOU like or not style-wise :rofl_200: . I don't know what you think about the Z-Rex? It was one of the best motors I've felt. Unless you are completely turned off by it's looks, I'd at least ride one before you buy. The 12 not the 11. The one I rode actually handled pretty well.

If you are settled on the Z1k? Cool. Enjoy whatever you get!

i dont like the styling of the Zrex at all. I dont understand designing a newer bike with an 80's look to it. Great motor though.

I really do like the Z1k, and loved the ride I had on it. If I were to go completely supersport I would go for the GSXR750

The latest edition of Motorcyclist magazine had the Z1000 listed as a smart money buy.

"Sci-fi styling in a 493-pound package that defines edgy.
Middling midrange leads to a 125-horse hit at 10,250 rpm, but the 953cc four buzzes too much in between. Tame the harsh suspension and it goes as fast as it looks."

A little creative induction work and some suspension bits could make one of these a real blast to ride. There are aftermarket pipes available as well for those that aren't impressed with the stock quads.

When they first came out I threw a leg over a black one at the dealership. The ergo's just didn't work for my lanky frame.

Redux,
Funny you brought up the FZ1.......I went to my uncles house last night for our weekly Tuesday night ride to bikenight. And what does he roll out of the garage but a beautiful maroon 2006 FZ1.

He has a nice option now, a awesome chromed out 2003 max of the FZ1. I wish.....

he told me I could ride it as soon as its broken in.

I might have a buyer for my max as well, gotta call the guy today
