I bought my 2005 a few years ago and it did not have a number on the badge. Last 4 of the VIN is 0681. Have always been curious whether it was missing or as some have reported that only a couple thousand were numbered.

Hi. I can’t believe in this day and age of computers, someone, somewhere in a dusty old Yamaha office hasn’t got a list or knows how the 2005 serial numbers run and to which chassis number they were assigned. I’ve contacted Yamaha myself and been told there is no info other than my 2005 is an American import. Pretty piss poor if you ask me.

My 2005 has a badge with #893/2000. VIN last four are 0050.
