That link shows one of the third world country types of repairs when you don't have any other choice and you just need it going again. You can do it again next year when the wear is back. Hope you like pulling engines apart and doing this every few thousand miles.

^^^ the wear occurs again because the hardened surface has been ground away exposing the softer metal?

Never done it but have watched videos of case hardening done at home. No idea how effective that would be but just throwing it out there.
