i have a 92 1200 vmax, was driving and running just fine. parked it for a few hrs and then started it up. when i went to leave as i grabbed the clutch and pulled up teh kickstand, the bike died. would not start after that and has no spark. still has power and turns over . just no sprak and wont fire up.
any help would b very appreciated

As it was running then I'd suspect something in the ignition cut-off system isn't working.
First thing to check would be the side stand and clutch switches as follows:
  1. Main switch on and engine stop switch on 'Run'
  2. Transmission in gear and side stand is up
  3. Pull in clutch lever and push 'start'
  4. Engine will start - clutch switch is OK
  5. Side stand is down - engine will stall.
  6. Side stand switch is OK
P3-19 of the Owners manual refers.

Most likely failed component is the pickup coil. Look for the 2 pin connector under the seat near the rear of the battery. Unplug and measure resitance. Should be 80-120 but if it's reading anything it's probably ok.
