47 as of July, riding street bikes since 1985. I've only had 4 bikes titled in my name, although I went through a period of buying & selling bikes from auction in the early 90s, which would add about 20 or so that I won't catalog here.
First bike, 1983 Honda Nighthawk 650. Phenomenal motorcycle. I'd have one just like it today if I had the room. Entry level bike that still had some serious Oomph. Honda marketing tagline : "It's the 650 that's eats 750s for lunch".
Second bike, 1986 Kawasaki Ninja 1000R (GPz 1000RX outside the US). Got it when it was 18 months old from a man selling it to pay off a debt. Paid $3500. Fast. Mother-of-God-fast. Fastest production motorcycle in the world at the time. 158 or 161 (mph) depending on which magazine tested it. Smooth, comfortable. Kawasaki used basically the same engine in the Concours for around 20 years.
1986 VFR 700F. V4. $3000. Almost as quick as the Ninja to 100mph. Perfect sporting motorcycle for the street. Loved it.
I got my 1993 VMax last year, and I really like it. $2000 on EBay. Thrown at least another $1800 at it, including the seat from Sean Morley. Love the hell out of the engine, for how it pulls and how it sounds. I'd like it to handle a little better, although it isn't as bad as some make out, and I'd also like for it to have a little more leg room. I wanted one from the day I first saw it back in 1985 in the bike mags.
