So the gun ban scare is getting on all over the nation, I am going to a gun show this weekend and was wanting to get some opinions from you guys, especially the guys that know guns and the way the market is headed.

I have an AK-47 assembled in the US not Romanian or Yugoslovian it is in very fine condition and the items that I have to sell are

1. AK-47
2. 10 30 round metal box clips
3. 1 40 round metal box clip
4. 800 rounds 762x39 FMJ ammo
5. 600 rounds 762x39 Tracer rounds
6. 1000 rounds 762x39 hollow point
7. 1 soft side case
8. 2 ammo boxes that hold the gear
9. Original owners manual
10. firing pin parts and spring assembly

Now any one that may have a negative opinion, I AM NOT TRYING TO USE THIS FORUM FOR SELLING THE GUN OR ANY PART OF IT. I am only looking for opinions and advice from the people on this forum that can direct me in the proper pricing or even if this is a smart time to sell this equipment.

Any tips pointers or opinions welcome...

Thanks

I would keep the rifle, but you could unload some of the ammo if you dont need it and bought it cheap.

I wouldn't sell unless ur loosing your house or if u have other guns as fun as an AK
but id ask your local gun shop what he think u could get for everything as a package im guessing 3k-4k

I love my AK. Depending on the price I would love to have it. BUT, I can't spend what it should bring now (I know it's more then I can afford lol).

I love the gun, I bought the ammo dirt cheap, I was getting it at a thousand rounds for 185-230 am order. We use this rifle for hog hunting here and it is amamzing for what it is. I just was on the fence because if it is ruled illegal to own I do not want to have to turn it over when I could sell it.

I know it will take not only an act of congress but an act of war on the citizens to get the guns out of circulation. Especially here in Texas but I dont want a hassle either. Just fishing it out. I personally agree with you guys buy hey the economy isnt getting better and I have other assault rifles.

They brass rounds or steel? Spec ops or rust mcneil might have a better idea... I thought texas was one of the states that wont enforce the law? And believe even if u dont want to if thats the reason ur selling it if it were to ever become illegal to own certain guns like that ull want your gun lol. But seeing how your in texas im not sure on tnat price I gave you dont know how hard they are to come by down there. If there hard to find yea good money if not then lower

Its a great way to make some quick cash with the current state of the arms market, however like many others have already said I would just keep it unless you are hurting for $. There is a strong chance of much stricter regulation coming down the pipeline that will likely only increase the value of the rifle. Even if you have a surplus of rifles that the media is labeling as "assault rifles" I wouldn't get rid of a single one unless you are in need of the $. Think of it as an investment that had a nice positive spike in the market and every single person who is an expert at formulating the trend is saying buy buy buy you know it is only going to continue going up.

All that being said if you have a surplus of ammo, I would dump it. Keep some stores on hand but right now the ammo market is ridiculous and it is a nice way to make a quick buck. That market will regulate itself again in time and you will be able to replenish anything you have sold at this point. After all we all saw this a few years ago. A new ban will likely only affect firearms themselves, they do not usually target ammunition.

Keep it and and prepare to use it when, not if the time comes. You cant put a price on protecting your family!

Gunbroker.com is the biggest guns sales website. If you search under completed listings you will know the current market price of your weapon. I've been selling recently and making a killing.

I have both types of ammo. Texas is one of the few states the is not planning on enforcing the ban that is correct. I only paid 300 for the gun plus what I have in the ammo. I was tossing the idea about selling it around simply because it would be an opportune time to make a profit. I am pretty sure now though that it will be one of those things that doesnt depreciate over time it will only be more valuable or more controversial either way it will be a win win. I added a picture of the gun some clips and a little ammo for giggles I also atatched a picture of my H&K home defense weapon.

That H&K is the **** right there.. yea with all thatwith gun u would get 3 - 4 k in NY but recently on craigslist seeing 1000 rnds of 7.26x39 for 500 so I donno. I get just .223 is rediculously expensive

I don't think at this time the ban will happen. Extended background checks is a given. Florida will likely close loopholes. I sent an AR-15 to my Son and Grandson, just in case. With the world headed for the crapper, I wanted them to have and not want.

Your AK is likely worth 2 or 3 time what you have in it. Gunstore sales have been hot, Private sales have settled down for a while. Plastic is easy to use but Cash is harder for people to come up with.

Gander Mountain in Sanford FL got a large shipment in sometime in the past few days. They were selling ARs at regular price (pre-liberal-********-extravaganza pricing) as well as a lot of high-cap handguns. If only they had ammo...

id love to have an ak or ar15. im not gonna shell out 2k for one tho:biglaugh:

the ol lady was diggin around in the closet and found 300 rds of .22lr ammo:punk: now there is a rare commodity:rofl_200:
