Looks like great idea.

(Does it come with the cute accessory?)

I'd hate to see the bike go into gear while you're driving. I've never liked the idea of towing a bike with one (or both) of its wheels on the ground.
I agree about the "accessory"! ....:biglaugh:

will it hurt the bike tho, towing it like that, for say....30 miles?
you'd naturally have it in neutral
and btw....I posted a WANTED in the for sale/wanted section.... I need a rear rotor....please no one rape me on a price..... mine is getting "a little" thin....lol
zip is 14830 (NY) if anyone has a good one....post price and S&H (or email it to me)

I do forsee it being a problem with our bikes but since the rear diff is not pressurized for it's lubrication (unless you have a mad max wide tire kit) the rear diff will be fine.

Our bikes just like chain drive bikes may have issues since the bearing that supports the middle gear output (and drive sprocket on chain drive bikes) is lubricated with pressurized engine oil (you could drive with the bike running but the angle may or may not be a problem with the oil sump - most modern sportbikes it's not an issue).

Some of the internal trans bearings are also going to turn (the secondary shaft) which will not be good on them either.

Either way for very short distances I imagine you would be fine but for long hauling you would need to either remove the driveshaft (or chain) before you hauled it.

How do you get the bike up into it? Back out?

I also wonder about the oilo getting into the tranny bearings without oil pump pressure?

That sucker is really bowing down with that 800lb. harley on it.

You sure it isn't that 100 lb girl?

Looks like it has a jack mechanism on the pass side.

yea....theres a crank..... roll the bike up on it....strap the tire to it and strap the handle bars down snug....then crank it up.
it looks bowed because he doesn't have it cranked all the way up.
(wish the girl come with it for instructional purposes....hehehe)

so...for the rear rotor question....anyone got one?

I've got a few. How thin is yours? They can get pretty thin without any adverse issues (unless you have really thin brake pads too).

Sean

I actually saw those Undertaker haulers at the Swat Meet in Daytona Last year.
Pretty cool, they come in a small coffin when you buy a new one.
I wanted to get one but everyone I asked said hauling the VMax that way would not be good for the rear, turning the shaft and gears and all.
But I think as an emergency short trip it would be OK.
Still have it on "The List" for emergency towing if I ever break down in town and need to get the bike back home.

mines getting real thin.....red98vmax has one he says he'll sell to me.
I'll keep you in mind tho Sean....just in case.
Yea....the coffin that the hauler comes in is cool too!
I only need something to go from my house to the dealer (approx. 25 miles) to get the steering head bearings done.
I dont wanna risk doing it myself!
they said they'd do it for 150.00.
I wish I was alot closer to one of you guys....I'd rather pay you than a dealer, but I do trust this dealer....the owner and 2 of the shop guys own vmaxes, so they know what they are doing and take good care of it and me!
I still think I'm not getting the power I should out of the max tho.....it might need valve adj..... I dont know, either that or I'm getting use to the power and it just doesnt seem like it has enough for me anymore!....lol

I have a 14 foot trailer you can borrow if you wanna come down and get it and then bring it back, when your done.:biglaugh:

Isn't there anyone you know close by that has a trailer you could borrow?

That's the good thing about going to local Bike Nights, you meet all kinds of people and become friends, and help each other out when you can.
I helped a guy move and old car last month, with my trailer. He keeps thanking me and buying me a cold one every time he sees me.
