Is getting rid of the balance shaft a thing on these engines, after balancing the rotating assembly? Looking for input on if anyone has done it.

What would be the benefit?
Apart from the point Mr Maleko makes, all that would happen is that you would get more vibration from the engine.
ALL engines are balanced, think (say) the Meriden Triumph twins but whist that will balance the reciprocating masses, it doesn't cancel out unbalanced dynamic forces.
Have a butchers here for a more detailed explanation.

The purpose of the balance shat IS to fully balance all rotating assemblies.

We've done it with a machined off shaft to remove weight and it had a wicked vibration at 2 different RPM zones. One right where you would ride at on the highway. The other was higher up. Didn't take long before that engine didn't like it anymore.
