Metzeler just came out with a new "Marathon Ultra" with a different tread and I guess tweaked compound. Not sure if they're in vmax size though.

I run the big shinko in the back and a Pirelli Sport demon in the front. Best combo for twisties and all around I have ever found.

So, i know there are probably threads out there somewhere, but what is the best size for a stock 85? I know what standard size and maximum size, just dont know whats best.

110 front 170 rear

A wider front would potentially allow a bit more braking but the actual rubber-on-road difference between a 110 and 120 is a couple mm at best, pretty marginal. It will also throw off your speedometer.

your turn in on the corners, which is slow(or heavy) anyhow will be effected by the 120 front probably not to much. But it will change. If you do allot of Mt riding something to think about.
