I don't necessarily see him as a hero or a traitor although the media has been painting him as a criminal and on par with the Rosenburgs. Based on his actions alone, he is a patriot. At his own personal sacrifice he has exposed a massive infringement of the constitutional rights of how many millions of US citizens.

Technically what he did may have violated the laws surrounding his clearance, however that does not alleviate the government from responsibility surrounding crimes they committed against the citizens of the United States.
They can't have it both ways. You cant say that someone is a criminal for exposing you as one.

If in fact they did acquire any voice or email records from US citizens then each infraction should be considered as an additional count. Every department head, politician, etc... who had knowledge of this operation and the breadth of the data gathering should be charged with conspiracy as well.

I don't give a crap what they are looking for. You can't search all of the private data, then get a warrant based on that evidence.
