Thanks for pointing that out. For some reason I thought it said it can't filter bacteria or viruses. Looks like viruses are the only problem.

If you read all the literature that I posted You will see that a few drops of iodine in your water will clear you a virus is also No matter how you look at it In a bugout situation This little straw is one b***** straw

Did you include anything in your bugout bag to help filter out all the thugs, thieves and neighbors that might have forgotten to pack their own bag?

I think the real problems will be in higher population areas because the percentage of unprepped people will be concentrated so they will band together to go after any location that may have food/water. I think current big cities will be a very dangerous place to be.
My thinking is that individuals will have to rely on ultimate stealth and concealment while groups that work together will be longer lasting. I also believe people will move generally to warmer areas where they don't have to worry about the weather as much.
All this is predicated that the whole system is broken down although I don't foresee that happening in my lifetime, but there is enough crap happening that will I fear will change how we live for the worse.
I have everything needed from my backpacking days (may have to put an extension on the backpack belt though!:biglaugh:) although I have been looking at getting a MSR international stove that burns all fuels. I need to stock up on some freeze dried stuff so I have a fall back in case of wild game being scarce or a non option
