Yep, checking 2nd gear is under FULL power......not a good thing to do on a centerstand..lol
It can't be done on the centerstand. There would be no frictional resistance (load) to reliably test it with.

I was thinking about riding the rear brake the whole time, but it would guarantee that it was a bad idea.It can't be done on the centerstand. There would be no frictional resistance (load) to reliably test it with.
I figured or people would be doing it as a test.
Yep, I remember seeing a video some where, that someone had a bike on an lift, (the kind the just fit under the engine), and start the bike and revved it up, the bike fell of the lift and decided to TAKE OFF. NOT GOOD. :rofl_200:
The radiator is bent because he missed a turn and went into a field and hit a post. It bent the forks and radiator. He replaced the forks with new factory yamaha forks but left the radiator because it worked. This happened about 8k miles ago. He told me it'll wheelie straight up and down at 25 MPh with a hot tire...which might explain the for seals...[emoji52]I got to look at it today. I should note that in my first conversation with him he told me the bike does not leak. It still didn't want to start...We're back to single digits here and more snow on the way. I don't think I'm going to get to test ride it. From looking at it. He assured me there are no popping out of gear issues. I will call the dealer Monday to see if I can find out what all they have done :
The calipers were so wet from the fork seals leaking that I can't tell if they are leaking.
It could use a battery.
Needs front brakes, grips, mirrors, an end cap on the bars, and I would put a radiator on it because it has a pretty big dent. He said it does not heat up or leak despite the dent.
The valve covers are seeping...which makes me question the 2 valve adjustments he said have been done. Also one of the valve cover plastic end caps are cracked.
There's normal gravel dings on the front fender and a couple other areas. The side 'scoop' has a pretty good gash in it. Rest of the body is good.
I'd love to pick your brains on a fair offer...and see if any of these raise red flags. Thanks in advance.

Hell I would sell the 95 I have been working on for $ 3,000 & it is really nice looking & runs great.
You guys are right. Sean has a couple for sale too. I don't want to spend my ice fishing season working on my new bike (other than mods) hahaX2 walk away from the 04. 4000-4500 for a non runner with damage vs 3000 from a known and trusted seller that runs properly, besides 95 and 04 are pretty much the same bike.
