I have an 85 max that starts great in nuetral but wont at all in gear with clutch lever pulled in (doesnt even try) im thinking clutch isnt disengaging all the way so its not hitting whatever senses it being pulled in. I did have to blead the clutch when i got it or i couldnt even put it in gear without it trying to launch. I also noticed that if i try to go through gears quikly ill get to like third and it will miss it and then i back off and try again and it will go in it has never done that if im just riding at an (average) rate could these both be explainede by needing a master or slave cylinder kit? Fluid was in realy bad shape when i changed it and i had to replace the rubber diaphram in slave cylinder since it had swelled to twice the normal size:ummm:

The trans thing could be as simple as shifter adjustment or as bad as worn gear dogs. It can even be sloppy pins in the shift segment (which is easily replaced). The starting thing is likely the switch on the bottom of the master cylinder. It has two plug ins on it.

What ever caused this to happen " Fluid was in realy bad shape when i changed it and i had to replace the rubber diaphram in slave cylinder since it had swelled to twice the normal size:ummm:" could and probably migrated to the slave cylinder also..........

ya when i brought the rubber thing in guy at the shop kinda laughed when I said "this isnt supposed to look like this is it" and he told me old fluid would cause that to happen what kind of kit would i need for the master cylinder the shop that cleaned my carbs said i could pull off that project and sorry i meant the rubber from the master the one u add fluid to
