The manometer comes with a 4-1 fitting. It's for calibration purposes prior to hooking up all 4 carbs. It's so that all 4 tubes are matched to each other to start calibration with. It allows for more precise carb sync.

geez lifes hard enuff without tools like that, syncing your carbs is a crappy enough job let alone having to doubt or fix your tools before u start!! personally i wouldnt hook anything up that could suck mercury into my engine .mercury can explode under the right conditions and if it doesnt ,it will roll around in your engine forever , ever see it roll across the floor?i dont have six hands and 4 eyes when im syncing thats why i went with vaccuum guages, five minute job this way

I think I'm going to have to agree with Mr. Crow on this one. I made a sync tool using gauges, and completed the job in ten minutes. My first time doing it!
After all, the purpose of the sync is to measure vacuum, so why use anything other than a vacuum gauge? Very inexpensive to make yourself, no extra long tubing, no fluids to spill or get sucked in the engine, no complicated calibration, etc.
And you can often find other uses for the gauges, such as around your car.
What IS the advantages of other systems, those not using gauges?
just curious
