The wobble can be fixed with stock Vmax components you just have to take care of the problems, which usually evolve from wear, neglect, or accident. Make sure that your tire pressures are set properly.

I would worry more about bottoming out the bike and putting the front wheel into the radiator unless you put heavier springs in the forks. Those forks are considerably shorter than stock Vmax ones and made for a much lighter bike. One reason folks use aftermarket triple trees is because they drop the forks 2" to help with ride height and keep from bottoming out against the radiator. Even with drop trees I found that I still needed to add 2" fork extensions, but that is because my Max is stretched 6" which changed the CG enough that I was hitting my headers on the ground LOL. I actually found another Vmax in my neighborhood with the FZR1000 setup on it, had me confused as the triples looked stock almost LOL.

I've lowered mine 1" and still have the wobble in turns when gassed. Tighten up the triple too much and have a low speed weave, I can set it right and it's fine for awhile it's just the part about having to do it. I can't see it not handling better with r1 forks and a shorter front tire though.

Yes the fork leg length goes from about 32" to 28" I believe, again it's been a while. However I never hit the radiator with the front wheel no matter how aggressive I got. And I never changed the springs. Now I can't speak for whoever had the FZR before I got the front end but I would guess they were stock.
As for the wobble you hit it on the head. Too tight and the bike pulls a little left and then a little right while you're going straight. Too loose and it wobbles at low and hi speed. Getting the wrench that Dingy makes made it a lot easier to adjust. Couldn't get it correct using the old screwdriver and mallet approach but was able to get it perfect with the wrench.
