Coolant drain from block

I read in the service manual. Remove the little screw then use the top end of spark plug to remove the plug. HUH? I did that but the spark plug end is too small. Am I missing so here?

You have to pull that plate off and the drain is behind it.

Um. Huh? What plate? Sorry if I’m not understanding it.

The plate that is held on by a single Allen head screw, there is on one each cylinder, the rubber plugs behind the plates will accept a spark plug.

Where you already took the screw out of that piece will pop right off now just pull on it or rap on it to get it to break free and you will see the rubber plug once it comes off.

Number 9 on the picture below. Once screw 10 is removed, youc pull plate 9 off and find number 11 behind it.
