While I appreciate how much work was done here, I can't help but wonder how reliable would that driveshaft and u-joint be inside....

Taylor has been doing them for quite sometime. I don't expect you'd have some failures but it will rob some power for sure.

For what Taylormade charges for a wide Swingarm, Sean could have you well on your way to a chain drive set up without the power loss, easy wheel choices, sprocket changes, and foolproof reliability. But that's just my observation. Maybe there's a better way to go wide.

Never heard of one breaking... Opposite of the one Ed has...

Yea, it WAS a bad design by Paul but now it's way stronger than anything I've seen that you made Fred. Steve owns a gear mfg company and I have a lot more faith in a one piece gear with a HD triplex chain. Oh yea, did I mention that he also made it so I can switch the position of the gears and either have more torque on launch or a higher top end which is how I have it setup now. So yea maybe Taylormade makes a better setup than MadMax but I'm pretty sure Jedi made mine a lot stronger than either one of those others. And if I would have known that guys like Fred were gonna make mine as a piece of **** example I woulda never shown my issue on this f'n forum. So I guess if mine is the joke of this place it's probably time I move on to where there aren't people that I went to for advice to have them throw **** back in my ******* face. I'm pretty certain my hardened gears and chain are stronger than a couple ujoints.

i took it that fred meant before the steve upgrades.

Yours will for sure be stronger now then the others - hands down. The original MadMax setup is a junk one for sure. I don't know if he's doing anything different now but the big tire blue vmax we have here is holding up though we hard tailed that bike so we eliminated one range of motion that the setup had to make.

Hey Garret, sorry about the rant. But when I saw that I was caught off guard and I took it like he meant how it is now. He told me before he didn't like my setup cause "it was too clunky" Cause if anyone just read that without knowing all the time and issues I had and that I had it finally done right I just thought it made my bike sound like its a POS. But, you may be right and I should have approached it with a bit more finesse. But, I'm still not sure it was meant to imply he meant after. I should have just wrote " yea, before Jedi made it how it should have been in the first place". My Swingarm almost had me to the point of giving up on the bike but I knew if I could get it made the way Steve did it I should be good to go. And Thanks Sean for chimeing in that it's stronger than either of the above mentioned ones now. Your opinion means ALOT more around here than mine ever would. So if Fred Meant before, then I apologize but if he meant in general then I think you guys know what I'd probably say too. Just didn't want everyone here to think my bike was a piece of **** after all I've done and been through with it. Ok, second rant over. Lol

Hey Ed,
I'd be more than happy to take your Max off your hands.
And I won't even charge you for my travel expenses. :rofl_200:

Serioulsy though, I freaking LOVE your Max !!!! :punk:

What would be the advantages of running an extended swingarm? I'm curious right now.

For street riding? Not much.
Straight line stability is increased.
Less prone to wheelie ( not sure that's a good thing)
That's about it.
It looks good. That was why I went for it.

Oh oh... pull the fangs back dude i was just mentioning that you in fact had a ****** problem (you mentioned it in a thread) and then you and Steve were able to work it out to make it be like it should to start with... I was a bit surprised with this jumping on me bud... Wasn't expecting that. Sorry if i offended you in any way possible... I was just stating what was already said by YOU...

I have seen "junk" sold by a few so called vendors on this forum. As far as the madmax rearend goes at least he had the balls to put his idea out here and guys like Ed and myself have the perseverance to make it and anything else these mod magnets challenge us with. The haves build it, the don'ts criticize it .

Also makes room for bigger gas tank

Ya, forgot about that. I think I got the first one from Sean. I asked him about doing an extended tank when he was building my swingarm. He said they never did it but he would give it a shot. It took some time to get made while they experimented but it was worth the wait.
