You want to put the shaft into the swingarm/U-joint first then bolt the rear diff on lining up the splines. Make sure the spring is in place on the center nut of the differential so it will contact the rear of the driveshaft. For wider wheels/tires the trick is to put the diff on at the same time as the wheel.

i've never had a problem taking the rear tire/rim off with it all bolted up so should be ok.

that spring, you mean the 2" by 1/2" one that goes between the driveshaft and rear differential? Mines stuck on. the manual says make sure u don't loose it but not sure how it would even come off.
 
It just pulls off but they seat in place pretty well. Usually when it's loose somethings broken in the rear.

ah okay. nope all is good. i was just curious b/c the driveshaft didn't want to stay in the differential like it did before i took it apart. thanks as always sean.
